The Port of Durban is South Africa’s main general cargo and container port, the largest in the southern hemisphere, and handles 45% of South Africa’s break bulk cargo and 60% of all containerised cargo.

In the 2008/09 fiscal year, the Port of Durban handled 4 554 sea-going ships, cargo amounting to 74.7 million tonnes and 2.56 million containers.

Cape Town is ideally situated to serve as a hub for cargo between Europe and the Americas and Africa, Asia and Oceania. Our alliance partners are located in Epping and Paarden Eiland, integrating the Western Cape into our multimodal network.
